Biographical Summary
José Manuel Soto Alarcón was born on March 12, 1961 in Seville, although he is also associated with El Carpio, Córdoba. He began his musical career in the 80s, after participating in choirs and small groups, and in 1986 he released his first album, “From My Shore”. He achieved fame at the end of that decade with hits such as “Por Ella” and “Déjate Quer”, songs that consolidated him as a reference in Spanish light music and that have been covered by international artists. In 1989 he represented Spain at the OTI Festival with “Like a Light”, achieving second place. Throughout his career he has released more than 18 albums, collaborated with great artists and toured Spain and America. He has received awards such as the Seville City Medal and has celebrated more than 25 years on stage.
