Biographical Summary

Born in Madrid on December 1, 1956, Jorge Pardo began his musical studies at the age of 14 at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. Soon he was attracted to jazz, participating in his first performances with university groups and professional musicians such as Tete Montoliu and Pedro Iturralde. In the 70s he founded the group Dolores together with Pedro Ruy Blas, a reference in Spanish jazz. His entry into the professional world of flamenco came from Diego Carrasco and, above all, from Paco de Lucía, whom he accompanied on world tours and historic recordings. Throughout his career, Pardo has collaborated with figures such as Camarón de la Isla, Chick Corea and Carles Benavent, and has released numerous solo and group albums, establishing himself as one of the Spanish musicians with the greatest international projection.

He has received awards such as the Best European Jazz Musician Award from the French Jazz Academy (2013), the National Award for Current Music (2015) and a Grammy for the album “Antidote” with Chick Corea (2020).
